Commercial Plant Room Overhaul

Every boiler room tells a story—and this one was well overdue for a new chapter.
At SR Industrial Ltd, we were brought in to modernise this plant room and deliver a high-efficiency solution. On initial inspection:
🟩 The left-hand green boiler had already been decommissioned but couldn’t be removed due to the presence of asbestos insulation—so it remains in situ.
🟥 The right-hand red boiler was outdated, inefficient, and no longer performing to modern standards.
⬛ The middle boiler—the one now leaking water across the floor—was failing rapidly and marked for immediate replacement.
At SR Industrial Ltd, we believe every upgrade should be built on strong foundations—both structurally and technically.
This boiler room project began with a full strip-out of the defective central boiler, along with all redundant pipework and electrical services. With the space cleared, we moved straight into transforming the heart of the system
.
🔧 Structural Works
We extended the central concrete plinth to support a new frame capable of handling multiple high-efficiency boilers in a cascade setup—ideal for commercial energy management and system resilience.
🔥 New Boilers Installed
The new cascade boiler system was mounted, giving this plant room a major performance boost. These modern boilers offer far greater energy efficiency, responsive heating control, and longer-term savings.
🌡️ System Protection
To protect the new boilers from contaminants in the older heating circuit, we installed a plate heat exchanger, along with a strainer to safeguard it from suspended debris—critical for maintaining heat transfer performance.
đź’§ Sustainable Waste Management
We also fitted a condensate neutraliser with pump, essential for treating acidic condensate safely and keeping the system compliant with environmental regulations.
This post marks the completion of a critical first phase—making the room ready, mounting the core equipment, and installing safeguards to protect the entire system.
